The Couple
Katharina and Max are Ukrainians living in Amsterdam. Their engagement session in Europe was truly the perfect location to reflect their sophistication and connection. Hearing their life stories gave me a perspective I hadn’t considered before. Meeting new people and getting to know them during a shoot is one of the richest joys of being a photographer!
The Concept
Even though this session took place in February, we wanted the photos to retain warmth! They pop against an otherwise grey backdrop. Katharina and Max have such a warm, intimate relationship and we wanted that to be accurately portrayed. Additionally, some of these photos feel more like “snapshots” than perfectly posed photos.
I love to shoot in new places and am willing to travel for weddings and engagement sessions in Europe. A fresh perspective inspires creativity. If it doesn’t make sense for you to do a session in Austin, Texas, but you would like to work with me, reach out and I’m sure we can coordinate a beautiful session wherever you are.
Planning Your Own Engagement Session in Europe
While it can feel overwhelming to plan a photo session in an unfamiliar place, there are so many resources that can help! I recommend starting with a hashtag search on Instagram: “#parisphotoshoot” “amsterdamengagements” “londonmodel”. Look for photos and locations that interest you. Often the post will have the location tagged. I also often find locations by googling “best photo locations in ____”. See if you can step back and recognize what you like about certain photos!
I not only capture the images but always help my couples find the perfect location for them! If you’re thinking of scheduling a couples’ session but are unsure where you’d like your photos done, please contact me and I can research locations for you.
